DISCOVER WHAT THE SAWVAC 150 CAN DO FOR YOU
A One Man Cutting Machine
When it comes to silica dust being created from the concrete saw you have to make a decision. Cutting in a cloud of dust with no vacuum and leaving it on the pavement is a common practice. Then the wind will put it back in the air and it can rehydrate and stick back to the concrete surface. Brooms and dustpans are impractical, ineffective, and can cause exposure. Hitting the silica dust with a backpack blower gives exposure to everyone, is physically demanding, and a potential OSHA violation.
A detached vacuum tethered to the concrete saw is good at dust management but has the extra labor cost of a second person involved with the entire cutting process. Furthermore, there is the time consuming effort of moving the hoses, cords, and generators.
To have a silica dust extractor integrated into the concrete saw for a single person operation is the best solution to gain cutting and dust management efficiency, a healthy job site, and improved cost savings.

Industry Proven Machines
The Sawvac 150 is a two piece design with the single operator in mind. When detached both units have a light enough weight a single person can lift to load and unload from the back of a truck without the need for special equipment such as loaders and lift gates. The lightweight and versatility of the soff-cut X-150 has made it a very common and preferred tool throughout the concrete industry. The S-26 vacuum has also shared in the success as one of the most preferred and used silica vacuums in the industry. The Sawvac 150 combines these two trusted proven machines into a highly effective integrated unit, capable of single operator concrete cutting with excellent dust management.
Patented Configuration
Most great inventions come only as improvements being made to existing ones. During the course of my career cutting concrete with the soff-cut 150, I began to identify some of the problems with this machine, along with the process of cutting concrete. It has taken time and effort with redesigned concepts and modifications but the evolution of these efforts have given rise to a machine that I think makes cutting concrete fun. The Sawvac 150 is a unique one-of-a-kind design that is tailored for the individual who strives for perfection.

Clear Visibility of Front
and Rear Guides
The upright vertical placement of the vacuum canister is rearwardly located in an unused area, just behind the deck of the Sawvac 150. This is the ideal location for many reasons, not only to keep from expanding the footprint of the Sawvac 150 but also to maintain excellent maneuverability. Relocating the handle behind the blade block also advantageously aligns the operator with the cut for clear visibility and comfortable posture.
Improved Stability
and Depth Control
The soff-cut 150 has a 3 wheel configuration under the chassis. In my findings this is an unstable design and can lead to uneven skid plate pressure and gouging freshly placed concrete. The wheel design is improved when a 4th wheel is added to the outside of the blade block which keeps the skid plate gliding with an even pressure over the concrete surface while also creating blade depth control.
When the vacuum is paired with the saw the added weight stabilizes the vibrations of the combustion engine which creates a more stable cutting blade. This is ideal when early entry same day cutting is performed and concrete is at its most fragile state. This depth wheel is also excellent for precise adjustments when a V-blade, joint profile blade, or crack chaser blade is used to widen the initial saw cut when preparing a cut for sealant or decorative. This can make the Sawvac 150 the ideal choice for both early entry and late entry concrete cutting. There is no need for a second concrete saw like the soff-cut 150D.

Universal Blade Arbor with Early and Late Entry Blade Capability
The Sawvac 150 blade arbor can accept a wide range of diamond blades for many different types of cutting. Blades having 5/8",7/8",1" or a triangular center hole are all compatible. The perfect blade depth for any type of cutting can be made with the adjustable depth wheel. Under or over cutting a joint is a thing of the past.
Blade Rotation Stops and
Starts with Throttle Lever
The throttle lever controls the combustion engine RPM which engages or disengages the centrifugal clutch. This makes it possible to start and stop blade rotation. Having this function advantageously lets the operator re-enter a cut without any misalignment. Also, during vacuum maintenance its good to throttle down and stop the blade without lifting the saw from the cut... This is ideal for battery changes and removing the silica bags. It is also important to throttle down the engine after completing a cut followed by switching off the vacuum. This is good for battery conservation as the saw is pushed to begin cutting the next joint.

Lithium Ion Dust Extractor
This lightweight dust extractor is custom designed and integrated with the soff-cut X-150. It uses a lithium Ion battery pack to achieve over 176 CFM at the hose inlet. The dust extractor is powered by the Dewalt Flexvolt 15 Ah battery and DCBL 770 Flexvolt blower. Having 3 of these batteries ready for cutting operations is ideal to maintain a continuous cycle of extracting and charging. These batteries are lightweight, powerful, and have a very fast rate of charge making the lithium Ion battery an excellent option for powering the dust extractor.
Improving Vacuum Efficiency
The amount of water-lift (suction) and CFM a vacuum can achieve is affected by the length of the suction hose and the particle size of debris being removed. The Sawvac 150 has a 2.25 inch dia. hose approximately 24 inches long connecting into the diamond blades dust trajectory point inside the blade block.
The particle size produced during cutting operations is extremely fine and light weight. These vacuum conditions favor a high volume of air flow (CFM) instead of a massive amount of water-lift. The short length of hose, dust port location on the blade block, high CFM blower, cyclonic separator, and huge pre-filter is an effective and ideal solution for all of the different cutting applications of the Sawvac 150. I am confident the Sawvac 150 has over 99% efficiency of dust collection.

Digital Battery Read-out
This screen flashes between the battery capacity % and voltage during cutting operations, allowing the operator to have a visible live read out of the battery to maximize performance and prepare for battery changes. Having more than one fully charged battery available is the key to maintaining vacuum performance. Each of these batteries will last about 30 minutes and can achieve approx. 250 linear feet of early entry cutting. Having 3 fully charged batteries on hand to begin cutting procedures is ideal.
Easy & Efficient
Filter Cleaning System
To maintain filter efficiency the operator can clean the filter periodically without ever being exposed to the silica dust. To achieve this simply press the red button for a few seconds in between cutting and before changing the Longopac bags. The filter cleaning apparatus is also powered by the same lithium Ion battery pack used to power the dust extractor. This uninterrupted filter cleaning system works fast while achieving maximum air flow.

Longopac Bags
The Longopac system for dust containment is the final step in capturing the silica dust. It is far superior to tray or bins that can cause re-exposure to the dust. Collecting the silica bags at the end of a project and discarding them into a job site dumpster is an excellent solution.
Safety & Protection
Taking care of yourself is your responsibility. Whenever operating the Sawvac 150 always wear your protective gear!
